One-on-One Counseling
I’m Glad You’re Here
As a Registered Dietitian I believe in taking a weight inclusive, anti-diet approach to health and counseling. I believe in the power of tuning TOWARDS the body for answers FIRST and the power of community support through that process. I use Intuitive Eating to infuse my work as it has been monumental in my own healing process, as has the true concept of yoga.
I am so privileged to provide the opportunity to lead conversations and explorations. It is my work to hold space, to provide tools, be compassionate as possible and meet each individual where they are, even in a group setting.
I have gotten the opportunity to work with amazing people and some seriously bad-ass women. Women who are high achieving, motivated individuals who are ready to take that next step in their healing journey.
Little Did I Know, I Was Far From Alone.
I believed that if I just lost the weight I gained, ate the RIGHT foods, said and did the right thing, pushed hard enough and achieved enough, I’d be free from the constant overwhelming feeling of self-dissatisfaction. I couldn't seem to live up to my own standards. Every “fresh start Monday” inevitably floundered and I with it as I told myself I was completely alone with these feelings and thoughts.
I wasn't the only one constantly looking to the external for validation, hoping the next food restriction, hour at the gym, job, relationship, or city would bring some semblance of joy or peace. What I understand now, is that SHAME (thank you Brene Brown) kept me from connecting with others in a healing, nourishing way. The lack of vulnerability was my armor for the world so I wouldn't have to trust anyone, let alone myself.
So I slowly but surely started healing myself piece by piece (it’s a journey not a destination). I hired a life coach, started giving myself REAL food freedom, stopped punishing myself at the gym, started setting healthy boundaries, and exploring who imperfect me was.
Perfectionism and black and white thinking held hands with my eating disorder. They brought anxiety, distraction, and an inability to show up in the present moment. I couldn’t let myself keep believing that my worth was tractable. No 90 hour work week was going to help me feel whole, I had to learn that myself, through self-respect, compassion, patience, and practice.
Shame tells us the lie that “it’s just me, and it's going to be like this forever”, when the reality is, the moment we open ourselves up to the idea that maybe others feel the same, we smash that shame into a million pieces over and over again.
We are not alone, we are FAR from alone.
We have so many ideas and ways of BEING that are thrown at us from such an early age on a consistent basis, we take them on like they are a physical part of us.

How It Works
All sessions will be conducted via Telehealth (Zoom) with unlimited access for support through a HIPPA compliant hub.
We’ll begin your 75- minute Initial Consultation diving into your personal story surrounding food and body image. Your story and experiences are incredibly important to me so building on this foundation is crucial! We will spend the rest of the session honing in on certain areas and topics that will best support YOU during your healing journey. We will end the session taking a look at goals for our work together and a follow-up e-mail will be sent to bridge the gap between sessions.
During your Follow-Up 45-minute sessions, we will discuss topics based on your needs and personal goals. Through a counseling style session you’ll continue to get a better grasp of areas that require more attention and feel supported in your exploration of food and body -image healing. After each session you will be provided with tactile ways to implement what we have discussed during sessions as well as unlimited email/hub access to help with accountability and any questions between sessions.
This is not another commitment to a restrictive diet. This is about changing your relationship to food and body-image which takes commitment and time to re-establish trust, empowerment, listening in to personal needs, as well as learned behaviors. These sessions will be informative and reflective. They are geared to help you begin to trust your intuition from a place of abundance as well as an opportunity for implementing self-care from a place of nourishment and understanding.
