Changing the Diet Culture One Question at a Time

Wellness is on trend right now. The idea of Holistic Wellness is wonderful, but as usual, media tends to get its hands on things and skew the meaning to it’s advantage.

If wellness really is the goal, why are we still trying to come at how we feed ourselves from a deprivation mentality?

If we know that dieting doesn’t work long term 95% of the time, that weight isn’t a good indicator of health, than why are we still stressfully sitting in the fear of “did I eat too much?”

Anxious, obsession over food shouldn’t be the “norm”. So what if we stopped focusing on a lack mentality and started asking ourself if we have consumed enough to feel NOURISHED?!

This question can extend out much further than just with food to help us get closer to achieving the true concept of wellness.

How do you nourish yourself on a daily bases?

Are you consuming enough to feel energized? Satisfied? Joyful?

Are you allowing yourself to find pleasure in food, life, movement, relationships, alone time?

Are you consuming enough to feel nourished? When fear comes in and tries to ask the question, did I eat to much, switch the thought around, see how it feels.

What are ways you nourish yourself? What small ways could you better find nourishment during the day??
