Our Bodies Are Intelligent
Our bodies are insanely intelligent. Yet over years and years we work to intellectually override the system instead of listening and feeling for our internal signals.
I have read this quote over and over and I whole heartedly agree. Internal work takes a lot of energy. It can sometimes feel like this push and pull as we try to decipher what brings us closer to our true selves, and what moves us away. What relationships, habits, circumstances no longer serve, and what boundaries are uncomfortable but necessary.
We are CONSTANTLY analyzing and OVER analyzing it all. We innately want to think our way through, instead of feel our way through.
But there needs to be time for letting go. Time to realize that internal growth is not linear nor is it black and white. We can’t always rationalize and work our way through like a math problem needing to be solved.
Sometimes the best thing we can do, is to just rest. Create space, and stop trying to DO.
Only then can we began to feel, connect, and listen. In the rest and space all distractions are stripped down. It can feel intimidating to open yourself up to whatever emotions your body is holding onto, but isn’t it worse to live in fear of what has been pushed down??
How many times has something in life not been as bad as you originally thought?
How long will we fight coming home to ourselves?
While in the midst of serious internal growth, respect your need to rest. Or, understand, that rest may be your key to internal growth.
Maybe it’s the missing link, the deep understanding that can’t be intellectually problem solved...because maybe there really is no PROBLEM to solve. Maybe you aren’t a “problem” at all.
Maybe you have taken on years of what other people have put on you. Maybe there are areas you are actually rather content with but have been told otherwise.
Until space is created to decipher what is you from what isn’t, growth will always be limited.
Accept rest, not as a weakness but as an opportunity to deeply care and grow. ❤️
